SUCCESS STORIES
Globally networked - personal service.
What makes our logistics services so successful? People. Whether air freight, sea freight, or rail transport, it is ultimately our employees who develop clever logistics concepts and transport solutions and who get goods on their way and safely to their destination. Some of them have been a part of our motivated team for years. Read more about their individual experiences at NISSIN here:

Manager Logistics / Electronic Data Processing (EDP)
How did I end up at NISSIN? At the end of 1992, the company was looking for a customs specialist. I was a qualified forwarding agent with four years of experience in the area of customs clearance, so I started working in the NISSIN warehouse office in Neuss in January 1993. After only a short time, I began managing various customs procedures for the locations in Düsseldorf, Kelsterbach, and Hamburg. Since 1993, I have been authorized as a tax agent. For more than 25 years, I have been involved in various IT projects in the areas of customs, warehousing, and transport on behalf of NISSIN. I have helped introduce and expand a Warehouse Management System (WMS) in Germany, France, Spain, Austria, Great Britain, Poland, and the Netherlands. Since 2004, I have also been committed to the Europe-wide integration of SCOPE, a software for international freight management. Furthermore, my responsibilities include compliance management for ISO 9001, AEO, and GDP certifications and user support and training for various software applications.

Assistant Business Development Manager
Even back when I first began my career journey, I knew that I needed a job with a lot of variety. At first, I applied for various apprenticeships, including as a forwarding and logistics services agent at NISSIN. As soon as I arrived for my interview, I noticed how warmly I was received. This was not the case at other companies. From the beginning of my time at NISSIN, my responsibilities were multi-faceted. At the NISSIN headquarters in Neuss and at the Düsseldorf location, I familiarized myself with all areas of the company: air freight, sea freight, warehousing, etc. After my apprenticeship, which was shortened to 2.5 years, I took a position in the air freight sector. After three years, I became Deputy Branch Manager at our location at Düsseldorf Airport and was able to expand my range of duties and responsibilities.

Assistent Manager Operations
After coming to Germany from Poland, I completed an apprenticeship as a forwarding agent as I feared I had no chance on the German job market as an ecotrophologist and primary school teacher. I started working for NISSIN on June 1, 1992. It was important to me to work for a company that employs people from different cultures. At first, I was responsible for organizing transports with the Trans-Siberian Railway and supporting the sea freight sector, which was developing rapidly at NISSIN at the time. The sea freight sector eventually became my main focus. After moving to Neuss, the current headquarters of the company, I became Assistant Operations Manager. My responsibilities include price calculations for customers and interested parties, negotiations with shipping companies, and the complete order processing for the worldwide shipping of transport goods, with a focus on worldwide exports. I work across different time zones, so I sometimes talk to Japan in the morning and to the U.S. in the evening.

Logistics & Customs Department
I definitely wanted my job to be very rich in variety. This wish came true for me in many respects while training as a "forwarding and logistics services agent" at NISSIN, a dynamic company that offers me interesting prospects and regular support in the form of opportunities for further training. As early as during my vocational training, which was shortened to 2.5 years, a colleague asked me if I would like to work in the EDP Department within the Logistics & Customs division once I had completed my training. As I found the field of customs very interesting, I was happy to accept. Since the beginning of 2017, my main responsibilities have included customs clearance, the monitoring of search and reminder procedures, re-tariffing, monthly statements, and all customs services. Over time, I also became responsible for reviewing and monitoring the ISO 9001 certification process, and thus for internal and external audits. A third area of responsibility followed in the first half of 2018 when our Neuss warehouse completed the certification process for the storage of pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical products.
